Mika J. Lehtimäki
Mika is one of the leading Banking & M&A lawyers in Finland.
He has an extensive experience on Finnish and cross-border M&A, banking and financial transactions in the Nordic area and Russia. Mika has graduated from the University of Helsinki and he holds two post-graduate law degrees from the University of Oxford.
Mika has, throughout his career served especially the interests of foreign clients in complex financing and M&A transactions taking place in Finland. Has has advised in some of the largest corporate transactions in Finland as of 2000. The most notable transactions have been prominent public-to-private transactions and more recently corporate restructurings and complex inter-creditor issues. He has spent a considerable amount of his time in Oxford carrying out research and e.g. co-heading the financial law discussion group at the Oxford University.
Coupled with long practical experience this has afforded him a good view on the demands of international clients and also on English and US law and market practice. During the last years, he has lectured and written especially on voluntary restructurings and financial law.He lectures continuously for the Chamber of Commerce on financial law, intercreditor issues and M&A and has written extensively on English and Finnish financial law.
Mika is a member of the Finnish Bar Association, and Turnaround Management Association. Chambers Global, Chambers Europe, IFLR1000, ACQ International, ACQ Finance and CorpIntl have listed him as a leading lawyer in Banking & Finance in Finland. In addition to his native Finnish, he is fluent in English and is also able to advice in Swedish and Russian.
